It should be that we are able to ascertain through conscious discernment that throughout our lives we are undergoing personal change for the better. Not just in how we view our place in the world, but also how our thoughts, words and actions may affect others. We need to strive to be more into the future than where we find ourselves today. How is this accomplished and why do we need to make an effort towards elevating our being? All things are in evolution, and of course this must include our lives and how we chose to live, for we either evolve our spirit, or it is degraded by our ill thoughts and deeds.
Repetitive behavior is not what we want; we must strive to evolve through gaining new knowledge and in turn have this knowledge grant us subsequent new experiences. Having a closed mind where our predictable behaviors continue to blatantly show us our faults is the first aspect to be addressed. Our ego is our most difficult hurdle, and ingrained modes of 'being' are even more difficult to address, especially as we age. Unless a conscious effort is put forth we shall most likely remain stuck in our old ways. So strive to keep an 'open mind' at all times.
Keeping in place aspects of our being that has it's basis in controlling others is also a common fault. Weather this applies to our relationships within family, or friends, or indeed perhaps how we react or respond to various circumstances or situations, 'staying the same' does not grant us growth and liberation, in fact it creates stagnation and alienation! Remember; those that you have allowed to control you in the past, will continue to control your future...if allowed!
Stubborn modes of being is just more self-serving behavior and more often than not, it's a defensive mode that has it's basis in feelings of unworthiness and insecurity, both are driven by fear. What these types fear most is that the illusion they have built around themselves will one day be brought forth for all to see, for judgement from our fellow man, our peers, is perhaps our greatest fear. Little or no resolve is ever found when we continue to ignore our defiant ways, however they can offer us an opportunity to change, to shift towards a higher order, to move towards a more elevated state of being.
Most will indeed remain stuck, and these people prefer to remain comfortable with a 'just the way they are' mentality. They are predictable, boring and being in their presence can drain our energy. When we are willing to put forth a real conscious effort to better our self and to evolve, it's better to keep our distance from these types of people.
When all is said and done, inner growth is an alone journey and we certainly don’t need negative influences to inhibit our enduring efforts. Oftentimes hard choices have to be made to ensure we continue on our path largely unabated. Challenges are welcomed, however redundancy is not acceptable in whatever guise, shape, or form it may present itself....'Be Well'
